Courses Taught:

Young Adulthood: Love & Work:  I designed this course to focus on two important issues for young adults: finding lasting love and balancing love with career.  Emphasis is placed on students’ exploration of their own family-of-origin issues, attachment, personality and gender to help them discover how to have their own good relationship.

Human Development:  This is a study of lifespan development from infancy to late adulthood, focusing on physical, cognitive, social and emotional issues.  Special areas of focus include family systems theory, attachment theory and gender differences in relationships.

Family Therapy:  This course explores how to provide counseling from a family systems perspective.  Emphasis is placed on students’ exploration of their own family-of-origin relationships.

Group Counseling:  This is a practical course, where students are given hands-on training in conducting group therapy.

Counseling Theories & Skills II:  This is a practical course, where students are given hands-on training in conducting individual therapy.  Basic theories of attachment  and family systems are also covered.

Psychopathology:  This course covers the various psychological disorders, such as anxiety and depression.

History of Psychology:  This is a study of the historical and philosophical foundations of modern day psychology.
